Regression Linear regression is a simple and common type of predictive analysis. Linear regression attempts to model the relationship between two (or more) variables by fitting a straight line to the data. Put simply, linear regression attempts to predict the value of one variable, based on the value of another (or multiple other variables).

Regression Non-Linear Regression Trees with scikit-learn Pluralsight (Added 18 hours ago) May 21, 2019 · In scikit-learn, the RandomForestRegressor class is used for building regression trees. The first line of code below instantiates the Random Forest Regression model with the 'n_estimators' value of 500. 'n_estimators' indicates the number of trees in the forest.
1. The line reduces the sum of squared differences between observed values and predicted values.
2. The regression line passes through the mean of X and Y variable values
3. The regression constant (b0) is equal to y-intercept the linear regression
4. r = The Correlation coefficient
5. n = number in the given dataset

Regression
1. Ordinary Least Squares¶ LinearRegression fits a linear model with coefficients $$w = (w_1, , w_p)$$ to minimize the residual sum of squares between the observed targets in the dataset, and the targets predicted by the linear approximation.
2. Ridge regression and classification¶ 1.1.2.1. Regression¶ Ridge regression addresses some of the problems of Ordinary Least Squares by imposing a penalty on the size of the coefficients.
3. Lasso¶ The Lasso is a linear model that estimates sparse coefficients. It is useful in some contexts due to its tendency to prefer solutions with fewer non-zero coefficients, effectively reducing the number of features upon which the given solution is dependent.
4. Multi-task Lasso¶ The MultiTaskLasso is a linear model that estimates sparse coefficients for multiple regression problems jointly: y is a 2D array, of shape (n_samples, n_tasks).
5. Elastic-Net¶ ElasticNet is a linear regression model trained with both $$\ell_1$$ and $$\ell_2$$-norm regularization of the coefficients. This combination allows for learning a sparse model where few of the weights are non-zero like Lasso, while still maintaining the regularization properties of Ridge.
6. Multi-task Elastic-Net¶ The MultiTaskElasticNet is an elastic-net model that estimates sparse coefficients for multiple regression problems jointly: Y is a 2D array of shape (n_samples, n_tasks).
7. Least Angle Regression¶ Least-angle regression (LARS) is a regression algorithm for high-dimensional data, developed by Bradley Efron, Trevor Hastie, Iain Johnstone and Robert Tibshirani.
8. LARS Lasso¶ LassoLars is a lasso model implemented using the LARS algorithm, and unlike the implementation based on coordinate descent, this yields the exact solution, which is piecewise linear as a function of the norm of its coefficients.
9. Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP)¶ OrthogonalMatchingPursuit and orthogonal_mp implements the OMP algorithm for approximating the fit of a linear model with constraints imposed on the number of non-zero coefficients (ie.
10. Bayesian Regression¶ Bayesian regression techniques can be used to include regularization parameters in the estimation procedure: the regularization parameter is not set in a hard sense but tuned to the data at hand.

Pandas Scikit-learn does not, to my knowledge, have a summary function like R. However, statmodels, another Python package, does. Plus, it's implementation is much more similar to R. from statsmodels.formula.api import ols #you need a Pandas dataframe df with columns labeled Y, X, & X2 est = ols (formula = 'Y ~ X + X2', data = df).fit () est.summary

Perceptron While a perceptron with a logistic sigmoid activation function is the same model as logistic regression, the perceptron learns its weights using an online, error-driven algorithm. The perceptron can be used effectively in some problems.

Regression
1. Linear Regression. It is one of the best statistical models that studies the relationship between a dependent variable (Y) with a given set of independent variables (X).
2. Logistic Regression. Logistic regression, despite its name, is a classification algorithm rather than regression algorithm. Based on a given set of independent variables, it is used to estimate discrete value (0 or 1, yes/no, true/false).
3. Ridge Regression. Ridge regression or Tikhonov regularization is the regularization technique that performs L2 regularization. It modifies the loss function by adding the penalty (shrinkage quantity) equivalent to the square of the magnitude of coefficients.
4. Bayesian Ridge Regression. Bayesian regression allows a natural mechanism to survive insufficient data or poorly distributed data by formulating linear regression using probability distributors rather than point estimates.
5. LASSO. LASSO is the regularisation technique that performs L1 regularisation. It modifies the loss function by adding the penalty (shrinkage quantity) equivalent to the summation of the absolute value of coefficients.
6. Multi-task LASSO. It allows to fit multiple regression problems jointly enforcing the selected features to be same for all the regression problems, also called tasks.
7. Elastic-Net. The Elastic-Net is a regularized regression method that linearly combines both penalties i.e. L1 and L2 of the Lasso and Ridge regression methods.
8. Multi-task Elastic-Net. It is an Elastic-Net model that allows to fit multiple regression problems jointly enforcing the selected features to be same for all the regression problems, also called tasks.

Scikit-learn The goal of any linear regression algorithm is to accurately predict an output value from a given se t of input features. In python, there are a number of different libraries that can create models to perform this task; of which Scikit-learn is the most popular and robust. Scikit-learn has hundreds of classes you can use to solve a variety of statistical problems.

Algorithm
1. Algorithm 1 — Linear Regression. It is used to estimate real values (cost of houses, number of calls, total sales etc.) based on continuous variable(s). Here, we establish relationship between independent and dependent variables by fitting a best line.
2. Algorithm 2- Decision Tree. This is one of my favorite algorithm and I use it quite frequently. It is a type of supervised learning algorithm that is mostly used for classification problems.
3. Algorithm 3- RandomForest. Random Forest is a trademark term for an ensemble of decision trees. In Random Forest, we’ve collection of decision trees (so known as “Forest”).
4. Algorithm 4- Logistic Regression. Don’t get confused by its name! It is a classification not a regression algorithm. It is used to estimate discrete values ( Binary values like 0/1, yes/no, true/false ) based on given set of independent variable(s).
5. Algorithm 5- K Nearest Neighbors. It can be used for both classification and regression problems. However, it is more widely used in classification problems in the industry.
6. Algorithm 6- Naive Bayes. It is a classification technique based on Bayes’ theorem with an assumption of independence between predictors. In simple terms, a Naive Bayes classifier assumes that the presence of a particular feature in a class is unrelated to the presence of any other feature.
7. Algorithm 7- Support Vector Machines. It is a classification method. In this algorithm, we plot each data item as a point in n-dimensional space (where n is number of features you have) with the value of each feature being the value of a particular coordinate.
8. Algorithm 8- Radius Neighbors Classifier. In scikit-learn RadiusNeighborsClassifier is very similar to KNeighborsClassifier with the exception of two parameters.
9. Algorithm 9- Passive Aggressive Classifier. PA algorithm is a margin based online learning algorithm for binary classification. Unlike PA algorithm, which is a hard-margin based method, PA-I algorithm is a soft margin based method and robuster to noise.
10. Algorithm 10- BernoulliNB. Like MultinomialNB, this classifier is suitable for discrete data. The difference is that while MultinomialNB works with occurrence counts, BernoulliNB is designed for binary/boolean features.
