So far, 55 defendants have been charged in connection with the college admissions scandal, and of those, 41 have either pleaded guilty or agreed to plead guilty, according to the US Attorney's Office. Of those, 28 parents, including Loughlin and Giannulli, initially pleaded not guilty.
Laughlin will serve two months in prison and Giannulli will serve five months. Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, have agreed to a plea deal in connection with their involvement in the so-called "Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal.
Under the deal, Ms. Loughlin would plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, the prosecutors said, and Mr. Giannulli would plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud.
Ms. Loughlin would also pay a $150,000 fine and do 100 hours of community service, while Mr. Giannulli would pay a $250,000 fine and do 250 hours of community service. Mr. Giannulli’s longer sentence under the plea agreement may reflect that he appeared to be more involved in the scheme, according to emails cited by prosecutors.
